Business Planning – whether it be for a specific project or for your entire business LBDS can work with you to prepare a detailed “road-map” to direct your business and ensure it reaches its planned destination. LBDS has prepared detailed Business Plans for all sizes of businesses and organisations and for most sectors.
Financial Projections – based on business development scenarios LBDS can prepare projected cashflows, profit & loss and balance sheets for up to 5 years. This will include detailed assumptions to support the information provided. This could be applicable for funding applications being made for business strategic planning.
Project Management – LBDS has worked on numerous projects for West Highland College, HIE, Highland Council and many local businesses providing management and administrative support. Project management support can vary from 3 months to 18-24 months and can be on a fixed, weekly/monthly or ad-hoc basis.
Project Financing – over the last 15-20 years LBDS staff have built up extensive knowledge of different sources of financial support - whether for start-ups or SME’s, social enterprises or community groups. LBDS can build your funding package to suit your requirements.
Feasibility Studies – LBDS has expertise in producing feasibility studies to ensure a project or development can ultimately be realised. Combined with some of the other services LBDS can provide, a complete development package can be offered from initial idea to completion. This covers work both for SME’s and community groups.

LBDS is an approved Chartered Management Institute (CMI) centre which can offer VQ’s in Management suitable for senior executives as well as middle managers. This provides managers with a widely recognised business qualification, assessed on your practical experience as well as your management knowledge and understanding. Funding Applications – LBDS has successfully prepared, submitted, and received approval for many funding applications over a 15 year period. This includes submission to funders such as HIE, Business Gateway, Highland Council, LEADER, SRDP, ESF and Lottery, amongst others. We work closely with clients to achieve successful outcomes.
Business Workshops – in addition to the business workshops outlined under Courses, LBDS can arrange, organise and source trainers to deliver many business related courses. LBDS has a wide network of highly professional, experienced trainers and training organisations it has worked with to deliver courses locally in Lochaber.
